The Wheels On The Bus

Did Jesus lie?

I've just been thinking about lying and how much of it we use in our world today.  The Supreme Court say the police can lie to play the criminal game to catch a thief, but at what point does that create more of a climate and environment of that criminal mentality?

Then there's the lying that says things like, "God is Love," and "I love Jesus" and etc., yet in the name of that love, violence and war.  Maybe that's not really a lie though, maybe some people view violence and war as a form of love.  Maybe?

I would think Jesus, the whistleblower that he was, would put a premium on truth, the ugly truth of what we do in our actions and interactions and then repeat the words he so often did, "love your neighbor as your self," and the fact that it is our responsibility to live it even when others do not.

I'd hope that someone would find my taking the time to write them with my concerns to be an expression of my love even if my concerns are real and the person I am writing is the one raising those concerns.

I'd want my neighbor to communicate with me directly if there was a problem, wouldn't you?
